About the Role: Bakery Wrapper

As a Bakery Wrapper at Costco Richmond, your primary focus will be on preparing and packaging baked goods to meet Costco’s high standards for quality and consistency. You’ll be removing products from baking containers, applying icings and glazes according to Costco’s formulas, and packaging goods both by hand and with wrapping equipment. You’ll also weigh and label products, cull any items that don’t meet quality standards, and assemble cardboard packaging boxes.

Beyond the wrapping station, you’ll be responsible for monitoring the bakery sales area, rotating stock, checking pull dates, and complying with health code regulations. Providing prompt and courteous service to Costco members is also a key part of this role, along with keeping your workspace clean and following all safety and security procedures.

• Weigh and label products accurately, and cull any broken, underweight, heavy, or defective goods
• Move product throughout the bakery using large wheeled metal racks
• Restock and rotate the bakery sales area, monitoring pull dates and complying with health code requirements
• Provide courteous member service, answer product questions, and direct members to the products or services they’re looking for
• Maintain cleanliness in both the wrapping and sales areas, following safety and security procedures at all times
• Assist with other bakery or warehouse duties as needed

Requirements / Skills

Costco is open to candidates at various experience levels for this role — no prior bakery experience is required. What matters most is your reliability, your commitment to food safety standards, and your ability to work efficiently in a production-oriented setting. Here’s what you’ll need to qualify:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, though not mandatory
• Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required starting on your first day in the position
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as moving heavy racks and standing for extended periods
• Attention to detail when weighing, labelling, and assessing product quality
• Reliable and punctual with a team-oriented attitude
