The role also covers the upkeep of the department. As a non-essential function, you assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assist members in choosing eyeglass frame and lens options, and provide and ensure prompt and courteous member service
  • Ring up orders and over-the-counter merchandise; receive accurate payment, make change, and process cheques, credit and debit charges according to proper procedures for paperwork, cash handling and performance of duties
  • Fit and adjust eyeglasses using a frame warmer and bending with fingers, where permitted by provincial law and under the supervision of a licensed Optician
  • Order equipment, merchandise and supplies by keying into the computer, and follow safety and security procedures
  • Stock merchandise and supplies, following department procedures and standards for production, record keeping, merchandising and product storage
  • Clean the department by spraying, wiping and mopping; empty trash and operate the trash compactor and cardboard bailer
  • Assist in other areas of the warehouse as necessary (listed as a non-essential function)
