About the Role: Tire Installer

Responsibilities

The Tire Installer role at Costco Richmond covers a wide range of duties across technical installation, member service, and sales floor organization. Every task contributes to a safe, efficient, and member-focused Tire Centre operation.

  • Mount and balance tires using wheel balancers, mounting machines, and impact guns in accordance with TIA R.I.S.T. standards
  • Operate hydraulic hoists to raise vehicles safely following American Lift Institute guidelines
  • Reset and relearn TPMS sensors as required using Costco-supplied reset tools
  • Repair flat tires for members according to Tire Industry Standards
  • Perform 40KM torque checks and assist managers with 10-point vehicle checks before authorizing release
  • Assist members in determining tire needs, answering questions, and making product recommendations using persuasive selling skills
  • Process payments accurately — cash, cheque, credit, and debit — and handle warranty refunds for tires and auto batteries
  • Stock, tag, and organize tires on the sales floor and in steel storage in line with the Tire Centre manager’s merchandising plan
  • Communicate with buyers, receiving, and inventory staff regarding special orders, pricing, and delivery status
  • May assist with propane refills at applicable locations following all safety procedures and provincial certifications

Requirements / Skills
