Responsibilities

The Cashier Assistant role is hands-on and fast-paced. From the moment you arrive on the floor, you’ll be supporting cashiers, assisting members, and maintaining the cleanliness and flow of the front-end checkout area. Every task you perform contributes directly to the member experience and warehouse operations.

  • Greet and assist members by helping load orders onto the conveyor belt, determining packing preferences, answering questions, and providing prompt, courteous service
  • Pack member orders into boxes and load them onto a separate cart or flatbed, while checking packaging for tampering
  • Run for items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested by cashiers to keep checkout lines moving efficiently
  • Transfer items not on the belt to a separate cart or flatbed as cashiers scan them, following proper departmental procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness of the register and general front-end area, cleaning spills and trip hazards immediately to ensure safety
  • Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking lot using a rope with a clasping hook, keeping the lot free of debris and the building entrance swept
  • Perform set-up and closing duties such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning the area
  • Operate mechanical equipment including the trash compactor and cardboard bailer
  • Support cashiers during various promotions and assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed
