About the Role: Tire Installer

As a Tire Installer at the Vaudreuil-Dorion Tire Centre, your core duties revolve around the safe and efficient servicing of member vehicles. You’ll drive vehicles into the install bay, operate hydraulic hoists and impact guns, mount and balance tires, and attach wheel weights — all while adhering to American Lift Institute standards and TIA R.I.S.T. Standards. You’ll also perform flat tire repairs in accordance with Tire Industry Standards and complete 40KM torque checks as required.

Beyond the technical work, you’ll play an active role on the sales floor — assisting members with tire selection, processing payments accurately, handling refunds for warranty returns, and communicating with the Tire Centre manager and other departments regarding special orders, pricing, and inventory. Responsibilities

The Tire Installer role at Costco covers a wide range of tasks that blend technical vehicle servicing with member-facing customer service. • Mount and balance tires using mounting machines and wheel balancers, attaching wheel weights in the correct positions
• Drive member vehicles into the install bay, onto the hydraulic hoist, and safely back to the lot after service
• Remove and re-attach wheels using an impact gun in accordance with TIA R.I.S.T. Standards
• Reset and relearn TPMS sensors as required using Costco-supplied tools
• Repair flat tires for members following Tire Industry Standards
• Complete 40KM torque checks and alert the manager or lead to authorize vehicle release
• Assist members in identifying their tire needs, making recommendations using the 5 steps of selling, and processing purchases and payments accurately
• Stock, tag, and organize tires on the sales floor in accordance with the Tire Centre manager’s merchandising plan
• Handle special orders and provide members with booked appointments at time of purchase
• Maintain a clean work area by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping both the install bay and the sales floor
• Fill propane tanks (at propane locations) following all safety procedures, once provincially certified

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for someone who takes pride in doing precise, safe work and can communicate effectively with members and team members alike. Previous tire installation or tire sales experience is a significant advantage, and candidates with that background will be given preference. Because this is a Quebec location, bilingual communication in French and English is required.

• Valid driver’s licence — required to drive member vehicles within the Tire Centre area
• Costco Tire certification — must be passed; training is provided through Costco
• High School Diploma or GED — preferred
• Propane certification — at propane locations, must obtain provincial PP0-3 certification and TDG Certification from the PTI 100-11 program
• Previous tire installation or tire sales experience — preferred; candidates with this background are given priority
• French language proficiency (oral and written) — required for this Quebec location
• Ability to work in an efficient, urgent manner throughout the shift, handling both physical tasks and member interactions
