About the Role: Order Picker – Depot

As an Order Picker at the Costco Varennes Depot, your primary focus is fulfilling E-Commerce orders accurately and on time. You’ll obtain pick tickets, scan items using a wearable hand scanner, and verify that each item pulled is the correct product in the right quantity and in good condition. You’ll work across the warehouse floor, coolers, and freezer sections — packing temperature-sensitive items into coolers as required.

Working safely and following proper department procedures is a core part of this position. You’ll coordinate with forklift drivers for high-shelf retrieval, act as a spotter to keep colleagues safe in fall danger zones, and consistently apply proper lifting techniques. Teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols are essential every shift.

Responsibilities

The Order Picker role at the Varennes Depot involves a wide range of physical and detail-oriented tasks throughout the warehouse. From scanning and pulling stock to loading delivery trucks, every responsibility contributes directly to customer satisfaction with Costco E-Commerce orders.

• Pull merchandise from floor stock to fulfil high-volume E-Commerce orders, loading items onto flat carts and/or pallets
• Operate a manual pallet jack to transport pallets through the warehouse and load completed orders onto delivery trucks
• Scan pick tickets using a wearable hand scanner to confirm correct item numbers, quantities, and locations
• Verify order accuracy by checking each pull for correct item, correct quantity, and satisfactory condition
• Pack cooler and freezer items in appropriate coolers to maintain temperature integrity during transport
• Coordinate with forklift drivers for full pallet drops from steel shelving, and spot to keep colleagues clear of fall danger zones
• Enter quantities and weights of each pulled item into the wearable hand scanner, noting approved substitutions and out-of-stock items
• Check pallet jacks and pallets for defects, tagging any equipment that requires attention before use
• Transfer completed orders to the audit area and assist in other areas of the Business Centre as needed

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for a dependable, safety-conscious candidate who can handle the physical demands of a busy warehouse depot environment. Candidates who are detail-oriented and comfortable working with basic technology will do well in this role. Please note that for this Varennes, Québec location, candidates must be able to communicate in French (oral and written).

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Food Safety Certification: Costco Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required on your first day in the position
• Pallet Jack Certification: Costco Operation of Electric Pallet Jack Certification is considered an asset
• Experience: Prior stocker experience is preferred
• Math skills are required; basic computer skills are preferred
• Bilingualism: Must be able to communicate in French (oral and written) for this Québec location
• Physical capability to lift pallets using proper techniques and work on your feet throughout shifts in a warehouse setting
