Tire Installer – Costco – Candiac, QC

Costco’s Tire Centre in Candiac, Québec is looking for a reliable and skilled Tire Installer to join the team at their location on Rue Strasbourg. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that keeps members’ vehicles road-ready — from mounting and balancing tires to resetting TPMS sensors and delivering friendly, knowledgeable service on the sales floor.

Throughout the day, you’ll be working in the tire installation bay, performing a variety of technical tasks while also interacting with members to help them choose the right tires for their needs. If you have a background in tire installation or tire sales, this role is a natural fit.

About the Role: Tire Installer

As a Tire Installer at Costco Candiac, you’ll handle the full cycle of tire service — from greeting members and assessing their vehicles to mounting, balancing, and torquing wheels to manufacturer standards. You’ll operate hydraulic hoists, impact guns, mounting machines, and wheel balancers, all while following strict safety and TIA (Tire Industry Association) standards. Note-worthy: this location may also involve propane services, requiring provincial PP0-3 certification once hired.

Beyond the technical work, you’ll play an active role on the sales floor — answering questions, making product recommendations using the 5 steps of selling, processing payments, and coordinating special orders. Bilingual communication in French (oral and written) is required for this Québec location. Teamwork, urgency, and attention to detail are central to performing well in this position.

Responsibilities

The Tire Installer role at Costco covers both the technical side of tire service and member-facing support. Each day brings a mix of physical installation work and customer interaction, making it important to stay organized, efficient, and safety-conscious throughout your shift.

• Mount and balance tires using mounting machines and wheel balancers; attach wheel weights to rims as needed
• Operate hydraulic hoists according to American Lift Institute standards to safely raise and lower member vehicles
• Re-attach wheels using impact guns in accordance with TIA R.I.S.T. standards and perform 40KM torque checks as required
• Reset and relearn TPMS sensors using Costco-supplied reset tools
• Repair flat tires for members following Tire Industry Standards
• Assist members in selecting tires by answering questions and making recommendations using the 5 steps of selling
• Process transactions accurately, including payments, refunds for warranty returns, and tire purchase invoices
• Tag and organize special order and .CA tires; coordinate appointment bookings and communicate with the receiving department on special orders
• Maintain cleanliness of the installation bay and sales area through regular sweeping, mopping, and wiping
• Assist with propane refills for members once provincially certified, following all safety procedures and guidelines

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for candidates who bring a combination of technical aptitude and strong member service skills. You should be comfortable working in a physical environment, following strict safety protocols, and communicating clearly with both teammates and members. Given this is a Québec location, French language ability is essential.

• Valid driver’s licence is required to move member vehicles in and out of the service bay
• Costco Tire certification — candidates must pass the internal certification test
• Previous tire installation or tire sales experience is preferred and will be given priority during selection
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Must be able to communicate in French (oral and written), as this is a Québec location
