Responsibilities

The Tire Installer role at Costco covers both the technical side of tire service and member-facing support. Each day brings a mix of physical installation work and customer interaction, making it important to stay organized, efficient, and safety-conscious throughout your shift.

  • Mount and balance tires using mounting machines and wheel balancers; attach wheel weights to rims as needed
  • Operate hydraulic hoists according to American Lift Institute standards to safely raise and lower member vehicles
  • Re-attach wheels using impact guns in accordance with TIA R.I.S.T. standards and perform 40KM torque checks as required
  • Reset and relearn TPMS sensors using Costco-supplied reset tools
  • Repair flat tires for members following Tire Industry Standards
  • Assist members in selecting tires by answering questions and making recommendations using the 5 steps of selling
  • Process transactions accurately, including payments, refunds for warranty returns, and tire purchase invoices
  • Tag and organize special order and .CA tires; coordinate appointment bookings and communicate with the receiving department on special orders
  • Maintain cleanliness of the installation bay and sales area through regular sweeping, mopping, and wiping
  • Assist with propane refills for members once provincially certified, following all safety procedures and guidelines

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for candidates who bring a combination of technical aptitude and strong member service skills. You should be comfortable working in a physical environment, following strict safety protocols, and communicating clearly with both teammates and members. Given this is a Québec location, French language ability is essential.
