Assistant Team Leader – Dollarama – St-Laurent, QC

About the Role: Assistant Team Leader

As an Assistant Team Leader at Dollarama in St-Laurent, you’ll be a key part of the store’s day-to-day operations. You’ll support the management team in overseeing staff, maintaining product presentation standards, and ensuring customers leave satisfied. The role also includes manager-on-duty responsibilities such as tracking attendance, coordinating breaks, and handling store opening and closing duties when needed.

A big part of this position involves upholding store safety and cleanliness standards, as well as participating in the employee training process. You’ll need to be comfortable switching between tasks quickly and keeping a high standard of service even during busy periods. Teamwork and communication are central to success in this role.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Team Leader, your day will involve a mix of operational tasks, staff support, and customer-facing duties. You’ll be expected to contribute meaningfully to both the front-line work and the behind-the-scenes management of the store.

• Assist the management team in overseeing store operations and staff on a daily basis
• Handle daily shipments by boxing and unboxing merchandise as it arrives
• Stock shelves with products in compliance with Dollarama’s presentation standards
• Deliver customer service and resolve customer issues in a professional manner
• Maintain store safety and cleanliness standards, contributing to a welcoming environment
• Perform manager-on-duty tasks including tracking attendance and ensuring breaks are taken
• Carry out cash management and store opening and closing duties as required
• Participate in training new employees as part of the onboarding process

Requirements / Skills

Dollarama is looking for someone with a proven background in retail and at least some experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity. • Approximately one year of retail experience in a relevant role
• Approximately one year in a supervisory role, demonstrating leadership capabilities
• Flexible availability including days, evenings, and weekends
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers and team members
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
