Seasonal Courier-1 – FedEx – Cornwall, Ontario

FedEx is looking for a Seasonal Courier to join their team in Cornwall, Ontario. This is a temporary, part-time position of up to 12 weeks, ideal for someone who thrives on being out on the road, interacting with customers, and keeping deliveries moving efficiently across an assigned route.

Day to day, you’ll be picking up and delivering packages, representing FedEx professionally in the community, and making sure every shipment is handled accurately and on time.

About the Role: Seasonal Courier-1

As a Seasonal Courier at FedEx in Cornwall, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages on your assigned route. You’ll inspect shipments for compliance with FedEx Canada’s features of service, load your van, plan your route, and ensure the security of packages, equipment, and vehicles at all times. You’ll also operate computerized tracking and dispatch systems to ensure accurate data entry throughout your shift.

Beyond driving, this role involves direct customer interaction — answering questions about FedEx services, informing customers about Canada, U.S., and international shipping requirements, and identifying potential sales leads for the sales team. You’ll be expected to maintain a professional appearance and conduct yourself as a true ambassador of the FedEx brand on every stop. Depending on location and workload, you may also assist with aircraft and/or container loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning.

Benefits and Salary

This Seasonal Courier position offers a wage of $23.28 per hour (note: this wage may not apply to internal applicants). The role runs Tuesday to Saturday shifts. While this is a temporary position, it’s a great way to gain hands-on experience with one of Canada’s most recognized logistics companies.

Responsibilities

In this Seasonal Courier role, your primary focus is on safe, accurate, and timely delivery and pick-up of packages throughout your assigned route in Cornwall. Every responsibility ties back to delivering an exceptional customer experience while upholding FedEx’s high operational standards.

• Deliver and pick up packages safely and efficiently while representing FedEx in a professional and courteous manner
• Inspect and select assigned packages accurately, reporting stop counts and missorts as required
• Plan your route according to Courier Best Practices to maximize efficiency and ensure proper security of packages, equipment, and vehicles
• Operate computerized tracking and dispatch systems with correct and timely data entry
• Verify shipment compliance with FedEx Canada features of service, confirm proper labelling, and ensure all paperwork is neat and accurate
• Maintain adequate supplies of FedEx shipping materials for customers and keep them informed about services and Canada, U.S., and international shipping requirements
• Identify sales opportunities from existing customers and relay leads and market changes to the sales department
• Operate your vehicle safely and in full compliance with government regulations and FedEx procedures
• Assist with aircraft/container loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning as location and workload require

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-minded, and ready to hit the ground running with full availability for Tuesday to Saturday shifts.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required as minimum education
• No prior experience required — entry-level candidates are welcome to apply
• Customer service experience (1 year preferred) — prior experience dealing with the public is an asset
• Valid driver’s licence (e.g. Class 5, G, or 1[AZ]) with two or fewer violations and/or accidents in the past 24 months
• Full availability for all scheduled shifts — must be able to work Tuesday to Saturday
• Ability to operate in a PC Windows environment and complete mandatory training and recurrence requirements
• Bilingual in French and English is required for candidates residing in the province of Quebec
