Onsite Medical Representative – Amazon – Nisku, AB

Amazon’s Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team is hiring an Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) at its Nisku, Alberta facility. This is a hands-on, people-focused role where you’ll be a frontline resource for Amazon Associates — providing first aid, health guidance, and proactive injury prevention support every shift.

Working alongside the WHS Site Manager, WHS Specialist, and Wellness Specialist, you’ll play a meaningful part in keeping the warehouse workforce healthy and safe. About the Role: Onsite Medical Representative

As the OMR, you’ll independently assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses, maintain thorough records, and coordinate with outside medical providers when needed. You’ll be present on the operations floor daily — coaching Associates on safe work habits, greeting new hires, and participating in safety committee and case management meetings. The position requires flexible shift availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Beyond direct care, you’ll help maintain medical supply inventory, facilitate CPR, first aid, and AED certifications, assist with random saliva drug testing protocols, and support emergency response on site. Attention to detail and accurate digital recordkeeping are central to how this role operates day to day.

Benefits and Salary

This position offers a base hourly wage of $31.00 to $51.77 CAD, with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon’s total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Responsibilities

The OMR role centres on proactive health and safety support for Amazon Associates across every shift. From administering first aid to coaching safe work habits on the floor, the work is varied, people-focused, and operationally critical. The responsibilities below reflect what a typical day or week in this role looks like.

• Provide first aid to Amazon Associates and make referrals to outside medical providers as necessary
• Minimize injury risk through awareness campaigns, education, and proactive engagement with Associates
• Maintain accurate records of all care provided, including daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports
• Coordinate workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for Associates with work-related injuries
• Engage with Associates and leadership on the operations floor to coach on observed at-risk work habits
• Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure the working environment remains clean and organized
• Participate in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes
• Maintain credentials including first aid, CPR, and AED certifications at all times
• Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols as required
• Support emergency response on site and maintain effective care delivery during emergencies
• Attend safety committee meetings and participate in weekly case management review meetings as needed

Requirements / Skills

Amazon is looking for someone who combines medical first aid competency with genuine enthusiasm for health education and people engagement. The right candidate is comfortable working independently, adapts well to a fast-moving warehouse environment, and takes a proactive approach to worker wellness. Preferred candidates bring additional occupational health experience and digital literacy.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Valid first aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or willingness to obtain within four weeks of hire
• Alberta OHS Code Advanced First Aider certification (RN only) must be obtained within 3 weeks of start date from a Canadian certifying authority
• Experience teaching first aid, CPR, and AED is an asset, particularly certification through the Canadian Red Cross
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes is preferred
• Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and body mechanics coaching is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital recordkeeping is preferred
• Experience with an industrial wellness program or as a Military Medic (Canadian Armed Forces) is considered an asset
