About the Role: Assistant Team Leader

As an Assistant Team Leader at Dollarama Dartmouth, you’ll work alongside the management team to keep the store operating at a high standard. Your responsibilities span daily store operations, staff support, customer service, and compliance with safety and presentation standards. You’ll also step into manager-on-duty tasks when needed, including tracking attendance and ensuring breaks are properly scheduled.

This role calls for someone who can balance multiple priorities without losing sight of the details. Whether you’re training new employees, resolving a customer concern, or making sure product is correctly displayed on shelves, consistency and reliability are key. Benefits and Salary

Responsibilities

The Assistant Team Leader role at Dollarama is multifaceted — you’ll be contributing to both the operational and people side of the store. From the moment you walk in, you’re expected to support the management team, engage with customers, and keep the store environment safe, clean, and well-stocked.

• Assist the management team in overseeing daily store operations and staff activities
• Stock shelves with daily products in compliance with presentation standards
• Box and unbox daily shipments as part of regular inventory flow
• Provide quality customer service and resolve customer issues as they arise
• Ensure compliance with store safety and cleanliness standards
• Carry out manager-on-duty tasks, including confirming daily breaks are taken and attendance is properly recorded
• Perform cash management along with store opening and closing duties as needed
• Participate in the employee training process to support new team members

Requirements / Skills

Dollarama is looking for a candidate who already has some retail experience under their belt and has demonstrated the ability to lead others. The ideal person is organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a high-volume retail environment where priorities can shift quickly.

• Retail experience: approximately one (1) year of relevant experience in the retail industry
• Supervisory experience: approximately one (1) year in a supervisory role
• Flexible availability: ability to work day, evening, and weekend shifts as required
• Time management: ability to efficiently organize time and manage multiple priorities
