Day-to-day, you’ll be partnering with cross-functional teams — Safety, HR, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Loss Prevention — to meet business objectives and ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time and to the right door. You’ll facilitate alignment meetings with senior leadership, diagnose performance gaps using advanced analytics, and implement scalable process improvements that can impact 200+ associates across multiple workflows.

About the Role: Area Manager II

As a strategic leader within Amazon’s fulfillment and operations network, you’ll oversee a department-level scope that connects the full order journey — from first mile product storage, through middle mile hauling, to last mile delivery. Your leadership will directly shape how millions of customer orders are handled every single day. You’ll conduct planning sessions with your team, coach them through operational challenges, and actively develop their leadership capabilities over time.

This is a physically active role that requires working in variable environments, including outdoor loading departments, areas with fluctuating noise levels and temperatures, and sites that may include stairways. You’ll work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be expected to model the physical standards you hold your team to — including lifting up to 49 pounds and standing or walking for up to 12 hours per shift.
