Asset Protection Representative – Loblaws – Toronto, ON

As part of one of the largest Asset Protection teams in Canada, you’ll work alongside store management and fellow APRs to minimize product loss, investigate theft and fraud, and keep Asset Protection awareness front and centre across the store. About the Role: Asset Protection Representative

This is a hands-on, dynamic position where no two days look exactly alike. You’ll be responsible for deterring, detecting, and apprehending individuals involved in theft and fraud within the retail location, while also working to identify shrink opportunities tied to operational compliance. Your role bridges investigative work, relationship building, and frontline safety.

Beyond apprehensions, you’ll play an active part in coaching and mentoring colleagues on Asset Protection policies, conducting store-level audits, and participating in community events. This position requires availability across a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends as part of a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day, this role covers everything from active surveillance and apprehensions to investigative reporting and colleague education. Your work directly protects store profitability and helps ensure customers and colleagues feel safe in the store environment.

• Deter, detect, and apprehend individuals involved in theft and fraud within retail locations
• Collaborate with fellow APRs to investigate provincial or national organized retail crime (ORC) cases
• Liaise with local police services on a regular basis
• Conduct internal investigations and compile evidence for court or arbitration proceedings
• Identify shrink opportunities within operational core compliance
• Build and maintain store partnerships through management meetings and huddles; coach and mentor colleagues on Asset Protection policies and procedures
• Participate in store-level audits and community events

• Valid Provincial Security Guard Licence — required to be considered for this role
• Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and Powers of Arrest
• Experience with CCTV and/or surveillance systems and working knowledge of Windows-based applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanour when dealing with colleagues, management, and the public
• High degree of initiative and integrity required to thrive in a dynamic retail environment
• Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and will be required to complete a criminal background check
