As an OMR, you’ll work alongside the WHS Site Manager, WHS Specialist, and occasionally a Wellness Specialist to deliver frontline medical care, manage injury prevention programs, and keep associates informed and safe. From first aid administration to workers’ compensation coordination, your day-to-day will be varied, meaningful, and important.

About the Role: Onsite Medical Representative

In this position, you will independently assess and treat both occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses, making referrals to outside medical providers when needed. You’ll engage proactively with Amazon Associates on the operations floor, coaching on safe work habits, participating in case management review meetings, and attending weekly associate safety committee meetings. You’ll also greet new hires and build daily relationships with staff across the site.

The OMR role requires flexibility — including the ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays — and a genuine commitment to health promotion and occupational wellness. You’ll be expected to maintain all first aid, CPR, and AED credentials, and within three weeks of your start date, obtain an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Code Advanced First Aider certification from a Canadian certifying authority (required for RNs in Alberta specifically).

Amazon offers a competitive hourly wage of $31.00 to $51.00 CAD for this position in Calgary, AB. Total compensation may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), depending on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities

The Onsite Medical Representative plays a central role in keeping Amazon’s workforce healthy and safe. From treating injuries on the floor to coordinating return-to-work programs, your responsibilities span clinical care, education, documentation, and emergency response — all within a collaborative team environment.

  • Provide first aid support to Amazon Associates and make referrals to outside medical providers as necessary
  • Minimize injury risk through awareness campaigns, education, and proactive engagement with Associates on the operations floor
  • Maintain accurate records of all care provided, daily activity logs, and end-of-shift reports
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for Associates with work-related injuries
  • Coach Associates and leadership on observed at-risk work habits to promote a culture of safety
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure a clean, organized working environment at all times
  • Participate in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes onsite
  • Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols as required
  • Support emergency response on site and maintain effective care delivery during emergencies
  • Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings and participate in case management review meetings

Requirements / Skills

Amazon is looking for a licensed medical professional who brings both clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to the role. The ideal candidate is passionate about occupational health, comfortable working independently, and able to adapt to a dynamic, shift-based environment.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) designation is required
  • OHS Code Advanced First Aider certification from a Canadian certifying authority (must be obtained within 3 weeks of start date — RN applicants in Alberta only)
  • Valid first aid, CPR, and AED credentials must be maintained throughout employment
  • 1+ years of work experience preferred in a relevant clinical or occupational health setting
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
