Canada Post is looking for an Officer, Development (Fulfill) to join its Delivery Operations team in Ottawa, Ontario. About the Role: Officer, Development (Fulfill)
The Officer, Development (Fulfill) is responsible for supporting a range of short-term and long-term process improvement projects within the Fulfill stream. This includes areas such as reading and coding technology, process control, modelling and network simulation, material handling, ergonomics, logistics and planning, and delivery network design. The successful candidate will also collaborate across other Core Processes including Market, Sell and Serve, as well as Operating Enablers like Finance and Human Resources.
This is a developmental role, meaning you’ll be building your corporate knowledge and professional competencies over time. You’ll be expected to apply the principles of Business Excellence and Process Management, participate in developing business cases for program resources, and guide or co-ordinate the work of others within your functional team. Responsibilities
Day-to-day, the Officer, Development (Fulfill) will be involved in both technical analysis and collaborative project work. These responsibilities span multiple process streams and require a blend of engineering knowledge, business acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Provide technical and business analysis to support short-term and long-term Fulfill optimisation projects, contributing to process improvement solutions
- Support development and implementation of process improvement solutions in areas such as reading and coding technology, process control, modelling/network simulation, material handling, ergonomics, and delivery network planning
- Collaborate across Core Processes including Market, Sell and Serve, as well as Operating Enablers such as Finance and Human Resources
- Identify potential solutions for Fulfill process issues and work with project managers to implement those solutions effectively
- Work with process managers and process owners to understand, develop, and support innovative process solutions
- Apply principles of Business Excellence and Process Management and champion these disciplines with business partners and process owners
- Participate in developing business cases to obtain program resources in support of process improvement initiatives
- Guide or co-ordinate the work of others within the work unit or functional team as required
- Complete corporate learning programs and ongoing professional requirements to maintain or attain certification in your field of expertise
Requirements / Skills
This role is well-suited to a candidate who combines civil engineering expertise with strong analytical and communication skills. - University or college degree/diploma in a related field; a Civil Engineering diploma or degree (or equivalent) from a Canadian institution is preferred
- 1–3 years of related work experience is required
- Knowledge of concrete and pre-cast concrete design standards for Canada
- Knowledge of roadside design considerations and applicable municipal or provincial standards
- Experience with report generation, data analysis, and quality management
- Proficiency with CAD and engineering software
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset; English is essential
- Exposure to mechanical assemblies interfacing with concrete and similar structural design is an asset
- Enrollment in a specific designation or certification programme may be required depending on the position
