About the Role: Material Handler / Order Picker

As a Material Handler at DHL Supply Chain in Calgary, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of powered warehouse equipment. Your core focus will be picking and putting away product, verifying order accuracy, and maintaining the high standards DHL is known for across its global supply chain network.

Benefits and Salary

This position pays $22.50 per hour. Responsibilities

As a Material Handler at DHL Supply Chain, your shift will involve hands-on work with equipment and product from start to finish. These responsibilities are central to keeping the warehouse running smoothly and ensuring customers receive accurate, damage-free shipments on time.

• Pick and put away product for shipment or stock, ensuring the exact number and type of items match customer orders
• Operate powered equipment including hand carts and power jacks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count product
• Physically load product onto equipment, pallets, or totes for more than 20% of the specified shift
• Verify outgoing shipments by comparing quantity, quality, labelling, and address against customer orders
• Inspect all inbound and outbound products to confirm they are free of damage and infestation, and that product code dates are properly recorded
• Report discrepancies such as non-available products and OS&D (over, short, and damaged)
• Maintain equipment by changing batteries or LP tanks and monitoring power sources as needed; complete daily equipment inspections
• Assist with physical inventories and help keep the facility neat, clean, and orderly

Requirements / Skills

DHL Supply Chain is looking for a reliable, safety-minded individual who takes pride in their work and has hands-on experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating powered material handling equipment and can work efficiently within a fast-paced operation.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Forklift certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program required within the first 30 days of employment
• 1 year of experience operating a reach truck, pallet jack, or sit-down forklift (as noted in the role requirements)
• Six months of warehouse experience is preferred
• Six months of forklift operation experience is preferred
• Strong attention to detail for order accuracy and product verification
