Asset Protection Associate (Full-Time) – Walmart – Woodstock, Ontario

About the Role: Asset Protection Associate

As an Asset Protection Associate, your primary focus is on preventing financial and physical loss throughout the store. That means conducting regular patrols, verifying that security features like doors and showcases are functioning properly, and taking corrective action when they’re not. You’ll also be involved in investigating incidents of internal and external theft, organized retail crime, and cases referred through Walmart Canada Global Ethics. Findings are documented and escalated to store leadership or the Market Loss Prevention Manager as appropriate.

Beyond loss prevention, this role involves supporting emergency procedures such as store evacuations and participating in store task team responsibilities as required. External apprehensions are carried out when necessary, always in compliance with company policy and applicable legal standards. Clear, consistent communication with leadership and stakeholders is a core part of keeping everything running effectively.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $19.35 per hour. Responsibilities

This role covers a broad range of security, loss prevention, and operational support duties. Each shift may look different — from conducting patrols and responding to emergencies, to supporting internal investigations and communicating findings to leadership. Strong attention to detail and consistent professionalism are essential throughout.

• Conduct daily patrols of the store to help ensure a safe and secure environment for all customers, associates, and vendors
• Verify security features including doors, showcases, and other systems are functioning properly, taking corrective action as needed
• Investigate incidents of financial and physical shrink, including internal theft, external theft, and organized retail crime
• Escalate findings from internal investigations to the Market Loss Prevention Manager in accordance with company guidelines
• Support cases assigned through Walmart Canada Global Ethics processes
• Carry out external apprehensions when required, in compliance with company policies and applicable legal standards
• Support emergency procedures including store evacuations and other incident responses such as fire emergencies
• Communicate clearly with store leadership and stakeholders, gathering information from multiple sources and presenting relevant findings
• Participate in store task team responsibilities as needed to support overall store operations

• Security Guard Licence is a required minimum qualification for this role
• Flexibility in scheduling — availability for mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift items up to 20 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to manage high task volumes efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment while staying organized and focused
• Strong communication skills with the ability to gather, explain, and present information clearly to leadership and other stakeholders
• Professional and positive demeanour in all interactions with customers, associates, and external parties
