Reporting to the Vision Centre Manager, you’ll be the go-to optical professional in the store — guiding customers through frame and lens selections, ensuring precise fits, and building relationships with optometrists and healthcare providers in the community. About the Role: Optician, Dual Licensed

As a Dual Licensed Optician at Walmart Waterloo, you’ll be responsible for the full optical experience — from helping customers find the right eyewear to dispensing finished products that meet the highest accuracy standards. You’ll play an active part in growing the optical business by executing in-store programs and promoting the Walmart brand within the Vision Centre.

This position requires someone who upholds the standards of their College of Opticians registration and brings meticulous attention to detail to every interaction. Whether you’re taking precise measurements, adjusting frames, or collaborating with local optometrists, you’ll be expected to consistently exceed customer expectations.

Benefits and Salary

Responsibilities

As the optical expert on the floor, your day-to-day work spans customer consultations, precise dispensing, and business development within the Vision Centre. Every task — from adjusting a frame to ordering lenses — contributes to a better customer experience and a stronger optical department.

• Develop the optical business by executing programs and promoting the Walmart Vision Centre brand in-store and in the community
• Build collaborative relationships with optometrists and other healthcare providers both within Walmart and locally
• Guide customers in selecting frames and lenses suited to their lifestyle, wardrobe, prescription, and budget
• Identify root causes of customer concerns proactively, anticipating needs and delivering effective solutions
• Provide accurate measurements, expertly adjust and fit eyewear, and complete all tasks with meticulous attention to detail
• Ensure all finished eyewear meets the highest standards of accuracy and quality before being delivered to customers
• Maintain good standing with the respective College of Opticians at all times
