About the Role: Casual Warehouse

As a Casual Warehouse team member, you’ll handle a wide range of warehouse duties under the direction of your shift supervisor. This includes completing assigned deliveries and pickups, scanning and sorting freight to the correct routes, performing vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and assisting the Tracing Department with warehouse checks for missorts and on-hands.

You’ll also be expected to contribute to a safe and co-operative work environment, participate in warehouse organization and clean-up, and perform Front Counter and HIC duties as needed. Accurate reporting and meeting tight deadlines are key parts of this position.

The Casual Warehouse position at DHL Edmonton offers a wage of $23.38 per hour, with increases in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Responsibilities

Working in a busy logistics warehouse, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks that keep freight moving on time and to the right destination. Your contributions directly support DHL’s reputation for reliable express delivery across Canada and around the world.

• Complete assigned deliveries, pickups, and other tasks as directed by the shift supervisor
• Perform vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure road and warehouse safety
• Scan freight according to agreed procedures for accurate tracking
• Organize and sort all freight to the appropriate delivery routes
• Move freight within the warehouse area as required
• Process inbound material accurately and on time, meeting established deadlines
• Assist the Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts and on-hands
• Perform Front Counter and HIC duties as needed
• Participate in warehouse organization, clean-up, and maintaining a safe work environment
• Complete accurate reporting and any other warehouse duties assigned by the shift supervisor

Requirements / Skills

DHL is looking for a reliable, physically capable candidate who can handle the demands of a high-volume warehouse environment. The ideal applicant brings a strong work ethic, a team-first attitude, and the ability to stay on task under pressure. Experience with DHL operations systems is a definite asset.

• Physical capability to lift and carry parcels up to 70 lbs throughout an entire shift
• Forklift certificate required
• Time management — demonstrated ability to work effectively within tight deadlines
• Teamwork — proven ability to collaborate and contribute in a team environment
• Security clearance — must meet DHL security requirements, including a criminal background check
• Warehouse knowledge — broad general understanding of warehouse functions and operations
• DHL systems experience — familiarity with DHL operations systems is an asset
• Education — High School Diploma required
