Asset Protection Associate (Part-Time) – Walmart – Woodstock, ON

About the Role: Asset Protection Associate

As an Asset Protection Associate, your primary focus is on loss prevention and store security. You’ll conduct daily patrols, verify that doors, showcases, and security features are functioning correctly, and take action when something is off. Beyond routine monitoring, you’ll also investigate incidents involving financial and physical shrink, including internal theft, external theft, and organized retail crime, escalating findings to the appropriate leaders following Walmart Canada’s guidelines.

This role also involves emergency response support — you’ll be expected to assist with store evacuations and other emergency procedures when they arise. Flexibility is key: the schedule includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights, as well as weekends and holidays. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll be gathering information from multiple sources and relaying clear, accurate findings to leadership and stakeholders.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $19.35 per hour. Responsibilities

The Asset Protection Associate is a hands-on, active role that keeps the store environment safe and secure. From routine patrols to supporting complex investigations, every responsibility in this position contributes to reducing shrink, protecting people, and maintaining store profitability.

• Conduct daily patrols throughout the store to maintain a safe and secure environment for customers, associates, and vendors
• Verify security features including doors, showcases, and alarm systems are functioning properly, and take corrective action as needed
• Investigate incidents of financial and physical shrink, communicating findings clearly to store leadership
• Escalate internal investigations to the Market Loss Prevention Manager in accordance with Walmart Canada’s company guidelines
• Support investigations related to internal theft, external theft, organized retail crime, and Global Ethics cases
• Carry out external apprehensions when required, in compliance with company policies and applicable legal standards
• Support emergency procedures including store evacuations in the event of fire or other emergencies
• Gather and communicate information from multiple sources, presenting findings clearly to leadership and stakeholders
• Participate in store task team responsibilities as required to support overall store operations

• Security Guard Licence — this is a required minimum qualification for the role
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift items up to 20 lbs. regularly, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally

• Strong communication skills — able to gather information from multiple sources and explain issues clearly to leadership
