About the Role: Material Handler

As a Material Handler at DHL’s Lethbridge facility, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day movement, verification, and storage of critical aircraft components. Your work directly supports the engine assembly line, which means precision and reliability are non-negotiable. You’ll use RF scanning equipment during receiving and picking processes, operate powered material handling equipment (such as forklifts), and ensure all inbound and outbound products meet quality and documentation standards.

This position follows a 6-week rotating schedule that includes days, evenings, nights, and weekends — with plenty of days off built in. You’ll work within DHL’s established Health and Safety policies, conduct daily equipment inspections, and maintain a clean and organised facility. Benefits and Salary

This full-time role pays $22.75 per hour. Full-time associates receive a standard benefits package including medical and dental coverage, long-term disability, basic life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, and short-term disability. Responsibilities

Working on the rotating shift team in Lethbridge, the Material Handler plays a direct role in keeping the aircraft parts supply chain running smoothly. From picking and packing engine kits to delivering carts to the assembly line, every task requires accuracy, physical capability, and adherence to procedure.

  • Pick, pack, and receive Engine Kits and Bulk Parts Kits for aircraft assembly operations
  • Replenish and validate parts used throughout the aircraft assembly process
  • Deliver carts to the engine assembly line in a timely and organised manner
  • Operate RF equipment during receiving and picking processes to maintain accuracy
  • Operate powered equipment (forklifts and similar) for moving, stacking, relocating, and counting product
  • Inspect all inbound and outbound products to ensure they are free of damage, correctly labelled, and match customer requirements
  • Verify and report discrepancies including non-available products and OS&D (Over, Short & Damaged) items
  • Assist in physical inventories and maintain accurate records
  • Maintain the facility and equipment in a clean, neat, and orderly condition, including completing daily equipment inspections
  • Follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures as established by DHL

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, and detail-oriented. DHL values workers who take safety seriously, can operate powered warehouse equipment with confidence, and are comfortable in a structured, fast-moving environment. Due to the nature of the product handled, Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is a strict requirement.

  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident — mandatory; residency is verified during screening (work/student visas do not qualify)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Forklift certificate or successful completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment
  • Six months of warehouse experience is preferred
  • Six months of forklift operation experience is preferred
  • Ability to physically load product onto equipment, pallets, or totes for more than 20% of a given shift
  • Strong attention to detail when comparing quantities, labels, and product specifications against customer orders
