About the Role: Delivery Driver

As a Delivery Driver at the Costco Business Centre, you’ll operate a commercial truck with air brakes and a hydraulic lift, transporting merchandise to member businesses throughout your assigned route. Responsibilities

The Delivery Driver role at Costco’s Edmonton Business Centre covers a full range of fleet and delivery tasks. Each shift demands both driving proficiency and strong attention to detail, from verifying loads before departure to reconciling paperwork and payments at the end of the day.

  • Collect and review route sheets, truck assignments, driver manifests, member invoices, audit notes, resale cards, mobile phone, and map book at the start of each shift
  • Conduct safety inspections of the delivery truck, visually verify pallet counts, and confirm that cooler or frozen items are loaded correctly, using pallet straps when required
  • Drive the commercial delivery truck, reviewing invoices to locate merchandise and removing goods from the truck using a manual pallet jack, hand truck/dolly, or hydraulic lift
  • Obey all traffic laws as set forth by municipal, provincial, and federal governments
  • Verify and confirm all delivered items and quantities with members, obtain approval for any substitutions, and collect appropriate signatures and payments
  • Provide prompt and courteous member service, including contacting the Business Centre to arrange delivery for missing items and issuing return receipts for damaged or refused goods
  • Return the truck to the warehouse after all deliveries, arrange for returned items to be checked by a manager, and turn in paperwork, payments, and equipment daily
  • Assist with loading and unloading the delivery truck at the Business Centre when needed, and support other areas of the Fleet department as required

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings commercial driving experience, a solid grasp of safe and defensive driving practices, and the dependability required to represent Costco on the road every day. Strong member service skills and the ability to manage route logistics independently are equally important.

  • Valid Class D licence with air brake (Z) endorsement required for Ontario locations; valid Class 3 licence with air brake (F) endorsement required for Quebec locations
  • Costco Food Safety Certification – Level 1 required
  • Safe, responsible, and defensive driving skills with awareness of traffic laws and safe driving practices
  • Map-reading ability is required; familiarity with the delivery area is an asset
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred
  • Business Centre experience preferred; commercial driving and delivery experience preferred
  • Familiarity with delivery area is considered an asset
