Responsibilities
Working at Costco’s Hearing Centre, your responsibilities span the full clinical workflow — from welcoming members into the testing facility to delivering comprehensive hearing aid fittings and follow-up care. Each task you perform directly supports member wellbeing and the professional reputation of the clinic.
- Conduct hearing assessments including history taking, air and bone conduction threshold testing, and speech testing for the purpose of dispensing hearing aids
- Provide full dispensing services including hearing aid evaluations, recommendations, fittings, verification, and validation of instrument performance
- Perform clinical procedures such as impression taking, shell repair, and instrument modification
- Adhere to all infection control, privacy, and confidentiality standards at all times
- Maintain accurate and complete records and clinical documentation for each member
- Stay knowledgeable about all products and services available through the Hearing Centre
- Escort members into the hearing testing facility and manage access to the testing environment as required
- Support warehouse operations in other areas of the location as needed
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate is a fully licensed hearing health professional who brings both clinical expertise and genuine care for the people they serve. Costco values clinicians who are detail-oriented, organized, and capable of communicating clearly with members throughout the hearing care process.
- Master’s Degree in Audiology OR registration as a Licensed Hearing Instrument Practitioner with full qualifications to dispense hearing aids in Alberta
- Registered (or eligible for registration) with the regulatory College in Alberta and/or Member in Good Standing with the Provincial Association, including any required licensing for practice
- Authorized (or eligible) to provide government-funded hearing services where applicable
- Clinical experience in audiology or hearing instrument dispensing is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude for working with hearing instruments
- Excellent communication and counselling skills to support members through the hearing aid process
- Proficient computer skills and strong organizational and time management abilities
