Deli Associate – Walmart – Quebec City, QC

Walmart Canada is looking for a Deli Associate to join the team at their Quebec City location on Boulevard Laurier. This is a temporary (fixed-term) position that puts you right at the centre of the store’s deli department, where you’ll serve customers, prepare fresh products, and keep the area running smoothly every shift.

About the Role: Deli Associate

As a Deli Associate, your day revolves around keeping the deli department in top shape. You’ll be preparing and slicing deli meats and cheeses, getting orders ready for customers, cooking rotisserie and fried chicken, and making sure all items in the display area are stocked and properly labelled. Every product on the counter reflects the care you put into your work.

Beyond food prep, you’ll be responsible for cold chain compliance, temperature recording, and following strict protocols around food safety, expiration dates, and product rotation. Keeping the department clean, organized, and free of hazards is part of the job — and so is pitching in to help front-end associates with price checks when needed.

The minimum hourly rate for this position starts at $19.05. Responsibilities

Working in the deli department means balancing food preparation, customer service, and inventory upkeep throughout every shift. These responsibilities are what keep the department running reliably and customers coming back.

• Zone the department to ensure proper product placement and a tidy presentation at all times
• Rotate stock and check for expired or near-expiry products, removing them from display as needed
• Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced according to store standards
• Comply with food safety standards including cold chain protocols, thermometer calibration, temperature recording, and expiration date tracking
• Prepare and slice deli meats and cheeses to order, using slicers, stackers, and other deli equipment
• Cook and prepare rotisserie and deep-fried chicken, and fill prepared salads and side dishes for the display area
• Assist front-end associates with price checks as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace that is free of debris, foreign objects, and liquids
