Casual Courier Driver – DHL – Ottawa, Ontario
Location: Ottawa, ON | Company: DHL
DHL Express has a casual Courier Driver opening in Ottawa, ON, paying $23.33/hour with increases set by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. About the Role: Casual Courier Driver
Your time will be split between road work and the warehouse. On the road, you’ll complete assigned deliveries and pick-ups using a van. In the warehouse, you’ll scan and process freight according to agreed procedures and Security Policies, sort in-bound material accurately by deadlines, and move freight within the warehouse area as required.
You’ll also participate in warehouse organization and clean-up, assist the Tracing Department with warehouse checks for missorts and on-hand items, perform accurate reporting, and help maintain a safe and cooperative work environment. Other warehouse duties may be assigned by the shift Supervisor.

Job Summary & Tips for Applying
Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Casual Courier Driver role at DHL Express in Ottawa pays $23.33/hour and combines van deliveries with warehouse work including freight scanning, sorting and customer interaction. A valid G Licence with a clean driving record is the first requirement to address on a resume, followed by ability to lift up to 70 lbs and any warehouse or customer service experience, since both directly match the stated duties.
Resume & Application Tips: The posting names a comfortable Excel user as a requirement, so list any MS Office work by name on your resume rather than grouping it under general computer skills. If you have warehouse, courier or customer service experience, describe it in terms that match the posting’s own language: freight processing, sorting by deadlines, customer interaction. A concrete example strengthens the picture, such as: “Sorted and scanned 200+ parcels per shift against delivery deadlines.” Note that consent to a criminal and other background check is part of the process.
Interview Preparation: The posting calls out working under pressure and meeting tight time constraints, so prepare a specific example from past work where you completed time-sensitive tasks without errors. Since the schedule is casual with no set hours, be ready to describe your actual availability across the 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. window. Worth asking at the interview: how shifts are typically assigned and how much notice you can expect, since the posting does not describe how the casual schedule works in practice.
