Casual Courier Driver – DHL – Scarborough, ON

This is a casual position with flexible shift availability between 7am and 10pm. You’ll be out on the road handling deliveries and pick-ups while also supporting warehouse operations — a role that keeps you active and engaged throughout your shift.

About the Role: Casual Courier Driver

As a Casual Courier Driver at DHL Scarborough, you’ll be responsible for completing assigned deliveries and pick-ups across your route, scanning and processing freight, and ensuring all shipments are handled accurately and on time. You’ll interact directly with customers and work alongside your team to keep operations running smoothly.

Beyond driving, this role includes warehouse duties such as sorting inbound material, moving freight within the warehouse, and participating in maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Meeting security requirements and following DHL’s policies and procedures is an essential part of the position.

The starting wage for this position is $23.33/hour, with increases as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Responsibilities

A typical day in this role balances road-based courier work with warehouse operations. You’ll be expected to manage your time effectively, handle freight with care, and represent DHL professionally at every customer interaction.

• Drive a company van to complete assigned deliveries and pick-ups on time
• Lift and carry parcels up to 70 lbs per piece throughout your shift
• Scan and process freight according to DHL’s procedures and security policies
• Sort and process inbound material accurately, meeting established deadlines
• Move freight within the warehouse as required
• Assist the Tracing Department with warehouse checks for missorts and on-hands
• Interact with customers both in person and over the phone in a professional manner
• Perform accurate reporting and complete other tasks assigned by the shift supervisor
• Participate in the organization, clean-up, and upkeep of the warehouse area
• Maintain a safe and co-operative work environment at all times

Requirements / Skills

DHL is looking for a candidate who is dependable, physically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure are key to succeeding in this position.

• Valid G License (Class 5 driver’s licence) with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Warehouse knowledge — broad general understanding of warehouse functions
• MS Office proficiency, including comfort with Excel
• Physical fitness — ability to lift heavy, bulky shipments and stand for extended periods
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure within tight time constraints
• Minimum one year of warehouse or customer service experience (considered an asset)
• Understanding of First Choice Programs and Global SOP (considered an asset)
