About the Role: Bakery Wrapper

As a Bakery Wrapper, your primary focus is ensuring Costco’s baked goods reach members in perfect condition. You’ll remove products from baking containers, apply finishing touches such as icing, glaze, or other garnishes according to Costco’s formulas, then wrap and package items either by hand or using a wrapping machine. Cardboard box assembly, weighing, and labelling are also part of the core workflow.

Beyond packaging, you’ll monitor the bakery sales floor, restock as needed, rotate stock, and keep an eye on pull dates — all while maintaining compliance with health code regulations and Costco’s safety and security procedures. Keeping your workspace clean and organized is a daily expectation.

Benefits and Salary

Responsibilities

The Bakery Wrapper role at Costco Markham involves a well-defined set of daily tasks centred around food preparation finishing, packaging, and floor presentation. Each responsibility contributes directly to the quality and consistency members expect from Costco’s bakery department.

• Garnish and finish baked goods by drizzling icing or spraying glaze according to Costco’s established formulas and production procedures
• Wrap and package baked items by hand or using a wrapping machine, and assemble pre-cut cardboard boxes for packaging
• Weigh and label products accurately, culling broken, underweight, heavy, or defective goods to maintain quality standards
• Transport product by pushing large wheeled metal racks throughout the bakery area
• Monitor and restock the bakery sales floor as needed, rotating stock and checking pull dates in line with health code requirements
• Provide courteous member service, maintain current knowledge of bakery products, and direct members to items and services within the warehouse
• Maintain cleanliness of both the wrapping and sales areas, keeping spaces clear of debris while following all safety and security procedures
• Assist with other bakery duties and support other warehouse areas as required

Requirements / Skills

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, though not strictly required
• Food Safety Certification – Level 1 is required and must be obtained by your first day in the position

• Physical ability to handle baked goods and push large wheeled metal racks in a production setting
• Member service skills and a helpful, professional attitude on the floor
• For positions at Quebec locations, candidates must be able to communicate in French (oral and written)
