About the Role: WHS Specialist

As a WHS Specialist at Amazon’s Stoney Creek facility, you’ll lead the charge on safety program excellence through data-driven strategies and continuous improvement initiatives. Your day-to-day will include conducting risk assessments, performing job hazard analyses, and turning safety data into actionable insights that prevent injuries before they happen. You’ll also be responsible for delivering engaging training sessions that resonate with associates and promote a proactive safety mindset.

Benefits and Salary

This position offers a base salary range of $29.37 to $40.38 CAD per hour, with final compensation depending on experience, qualifications, and location. As a total compensation company, Amazon’s package may also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Responsibilities

The WHS Specialist plays a central role in keeping Amazon’s fulfillment centre operating safely and efficiently. From conducting audits to coaching associates, your responsibilities span both the technical and human sides of workplace health and safety. Here’s what you’ll be doing on a regular basis:

  • Lead daily safety audits and walk-throughs to proactively identify and address hazards across the facility
  • Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and implement corrective actions
  • Perform risk assessments and job hazard analyses for new processes, equipment, and work areas

Requirements / Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required as a minimum educational credential

  • Minimum 1 year of EHS experience, OR a bachelor’s degree in an EHS-relevant field, OR 6 months in a safety-related role at Amazon
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters related to security and personnel
  • Bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field and experience with workers’ compensation case management are preferred
  • First Aid and CPR certification and emergency response experience are strong assets
