This is a technically deep position with genuine architectural ownership. Day to day, you’ll be designing and building data-intensive analytical systems at massive scale, working across a stack that includes Amazon Clean Room, Spark (Scala), EMR, S3, Elasticsearch, JVM-based services, and cluster management infrastructure overseeing thousands of daily executions. The team is small enough that your decisions matter, and autonomous enough that you can actually innovate.

About the Role: Software Dev Engineer II

As an SDE II on the 3P AV Measurement team, you’ll take ownership of the full lifecycle — from design and implementation through testing and deployment — of systems that help advertisers trust Amazon’s measurement capabilities. The team’s vision is to build differentiated metrics that demonstrate the unique value of Amazon’s ad inventory, and you’ll be an integral part of making that happen through principled engineering and creative problem-solving.

The environment here is deliberately low in unnecessary structure. You’ll find minimal meeting overhead when you need focus time, and plenty of opportunity to collaborate closely with equally talented engineers on hard problems. Cutting through ambiguity, making sound architectural decisions, and driving meaningful technical improvements are all core expectations of this role.
