Benefits and Salary

This position offers a base salary range of $194,000 to $291,000 CAD annually for locations in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal. As part of Amazon’s total compensation approach, the package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and work location. Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D coverage), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support overall health and well-being.

Responsibilities

This role demands both strategic vision and hands-on leadership. The Canada Specialist Leader is accountable for the performance, development, and direction of a national team of specialist architects, while simultaneously driving customer adoption, technical influence, and product feedback loops that shape AWS’s global roadmap.   • Build and lead a high-performing team of specialist Solutions Architects, cultivating a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and customer obsession
  • Develop strategic relationships with customers’ senior technical leaders, facilitating executive-level conversations that align AWS solutions with business and technical objectives
  • Represent AWS as a technical thought leader through executive discussions, public speaking engagements, and high-quality written content
  • Pioneer emerging technologies by identifying opportunities to integrate Generative AI, Analytics, and automation into customer solutions
  • Guide content development including whitepapers, presentations, and other customer-facing materials that share best practices across the field
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive long-term adoption and growth across specialties such as Data & Developer Tools, Advanced Compute, Core Services, Migration/Modernization, and Business Applications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Solution Architecture, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, and Training teams to execute customer acquisition programs

Requirements / Skills

AWS is looking for a seasoned technical leader who has spent meaningful time in the field — working with large enterprises and high-growth organizations and building teams that deliver real results. The ideal candidate blends deep cloud architecture knowledge with the executive presence needed to drive C-level conversations and the people skills to grow and inspire a national team of specialists.

  • 8+ years of experience managing a technical team of Solutions Architects, Sales Engineers, or similar technical roles
  • Cloud architecture experience across one or more major providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, etc.), including architecting and operating cloud solutions
  • Direct customer engagement experience with a focus on supporting Vice President and C-level executives
  • Cloud migration and modernization expertise — experience transforming customer requirements and workloads to the cloud is a strong asset
  • AWS Professional-level certification or an advanced degree in a technology field (preferred)
  • Deep expertise in two or more domains such as Analytics, Databases, Storage, AI/ML, or Compute
