About the Role: Wellness WHS Specialist

Reporting to the Site WHS Manager, the Wellness WHS Specialist leads both proactive injury prevention and ergonomic education programs on-site. You’ll conduct comprehensive workplace evaluations, identify ergonomic risk factors, and turn complex injury data into clear, actionable strategies. This isn’t a desk job — you’ll be active on the floor, partnering with associates and operations teams every shift.

Beyond individual coaching, you’ll help build a broader culture of safety and wellbeing by developing training programs, delivering ergonomic education, and supporting emergency response when needed. The role requires physical stamina — including standing and walking for up to 12 hours and lifting up to 49 pounds — as well as the ability to obtain a Standard First Aid certification within three weeks of your start date.

Benefits and Salary

This position pays $29.00 to $40.00 CAD per hour, with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and location. As part of Amazon’s total compensation package, you may also be eligible for sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Responsibilities

As a Wellness WHS Specialist, your day-to-day work centres on two core areas: proactive injury prevention and wellness education. You’ll be an active presence on the fulfillment centre floor, engaging directly with associates and using evidence-based approaches to reduce risk and promote healthier movement habits.

  • Drive injury prevention through advanced data analysis and evidence-based ergonomic interventions tailored to identified risk factors and injury trends
  • Lead workplace evaluations to proactively identify and eliminate potential hazards before they result in harm
  • Design and implement targeted ergonomic programs based on risk assessment findings and real-time observations
  • Deliver engaging ergonomic education and hands-on coaching that empowers associates to make informed choices about their physical wellbeing
  • Build partnerships with operations teams to integrate prevention strategies seamlessly into daily workflows
  • Create sustainable behaviour change through personalized coaching and positive reinforcement techniques
  • Support emergency response on-site and maintain effective care delivery during emergencies
  • Maintain first aid certification as required by provincial standards (Ontario: Standard First Aid Level A or C from a WSIB-approved authority)

Requirements / Skills

Amazon is looking for a candidate who combines a strong academic foundation in human movement sciences with practical experience in workplace health and safety. You should be comfortable working in an active, physically demanding environment and be confident building rapport with both frontline workers and operations leadership.

  • 1+ years of experience in a workplace health & safety (WHS) related field
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in athletic therapy, human kinetics, physiotherapy, ergonomics, or kinesiology
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word in a professional capacity
  • Confidentiality when handling sensitive personnel or security-related information
  • Experience in emergency response, worker’s compensation case management, or occupational/industrial settings is an asset
  • Experience with cross-functional teams and industrial wellness programs is considered an advantage
