About the Role: Warehouse Associate (Exports)
As a Warehouse Commis – Export at DHL’s Lachine facility, your day-to-day will revolve around the efficient and accurate handling of parcels and shipments. You’ll use electronic scanning devices (handheld, wrist, and wand scanners) to process waybills, actively participate in sort operations, and ensure that all packaging and paperwork meet compliance standards for export. A solid understanding of customs processes for import/export declarations is a key part of the role.

Responsibilities
In this role, every shift plays a direct part in ensuring DHL’s export shipments move smoothly from the Lachine facility to destinations across Canada and around the world. From scanning parcels to coordinating with service centre operations, your attention to detail and efficiency will directly impact customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
- Scan all waybills using handheld, wrist, and wand electronic scanning devices
- Handle parcels and shipments with care and accuracy throughout the facility
- Participate actively in sort operations during each shift
- Prepare shipment labels and ensure packaging and paperwork are fully compliant for export
- Understand customs processes and assist in the preparation of import/export declarations
- Coordinate shipment transfers by communicating effectively with Service Centre Operations
- Interact respectfully and professionally with all team members
- Comply with the collective agreement and all company policies
- Follow all required health and safety measures and promote a respectful workplace at all times
- Complete any other tasks assigned by management
Requirements / Skills
DHL is looking for a candidate who is bilingual, physically capable, and comfortable working in a regulated, safety-conscious warehouse environment. Given the export and airside nature of this role, successful candidates must be willing to obtain several certifications and security clearances. Experience in warehousing or customer service is a must.
- Bilingualism (French and English) — mandatory, as required under Quebec’s Bill 96 and for serving customers across Canada
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Minimum one year of warehouse or customer service experience
- Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for extended periods, including outdoors
- Forklift certification (held or ability to obtain)
- Security clearances and certifications including RAIC (Transport Canada), Airside Training, SABLE, AVOP, X-Ray, Physical Inspection (OJT), ETD, and ACR
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
