About the Role: Warehouse Associate

As a Warehouse Associate, you’ll be on the floor managing the flow of shipments and packages with accuracy and efficiency. From using handheld and wrist scanners to process waybills, to preparing shipment labels and ensuring packaging compliance, your work is what keeps deliveries on track. You’ll also coordinate with Service Centre Operations to manage shipment transfers and support import/export customs processes.

Responsibilities

This role sits at the heart of DHL’s daily warehouse operations. You’ll handle everything from scanning and sorting parcels to preparing compliant shipment documentation — tasks that directly impact on-time delivery and customer satisfaction across Canada.

  • Scan waybills using handheld, wrist, and wand scanners to accurately track all shipments
  • Handle and process parcels and shipments with care and efficiency
  • Participate actively in sort operations throughout your shift
  • Prepare shipment labels and verify that packaging and paperwork meet compliance standards for shipping
  • Support customs processes by assisting with import/export declaration preparation
  • Coordinate shipment transfers through clear communication with Service Centre Operations
  • Collaborate respectfully with team members and foster a positive, productive workplace
  • Follow all health and safety measures and comply with the collective bargaining agreement at all times
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

Requirements / Skills

DHL is looking for a dependable, bilingual candidate who can work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. Physical stamina, a team-first attitude, and a willingness to obtain required certifications are key to succeeding in this role.

  • Bilingualism (French & English) — mandatory, as per Quebec’s Bill 96 requirements; evidence of language proficiency required
  • High school diploma or equivalent education

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
  • Physical fitness — able to lift up to 70 lbs and handle bulky or oversized shipments; able to stand for extended periods and work outdoors
  • Forklift certification — current or ability to obtain
  • RAIC clearance — ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card per Transport Canada standards
  • Additional certifications — ability to obtain Airside Training, SABLE certification, AVOP, and X-ray certification
  • Excellent multitasking and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work under pressure
