About the Role: Casual Warehouse Associate

As a Casual Warehouse Associate with DHL Express, you’ll be responsible for the accurate handling and processing of inbound freight, ensuring packages are sorted to the correct routes and moved efficiently throughout the warehouse. This role supports the entire warehouse operation — from scanning and sorting to assisting with tracing and performing front counter duties when needed.

Working safely and cooperatively is a core part of the job. You’ll be expected to participate in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, follow established procedures, and contribute to a safe, co-operative work culture on every shift.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be involved in the full cycle of warehouse freight operations — from receiving and scanning parcels to organizing and dispatching them to the right routes. These responsibilities are critical to keeping DHL’s delivery network running smoothly and on schedule.

• Scan freight as per agreed procedures to ensure accurate tracking
• Organize and sort all freight to appropriate delivery routes
• Move freight within the warehouse area as required throughout the shift
• Process inbound material accurately and within deadline requirements
• Assist the Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts and on-hand items
• Participate in warehouse organization and clean-up to maintain an orderly work area
• Maintain a safe and co-operative work environment at all times
• Perform Front Counter and HIC duties as required
• Complete accurate reporting and any other warehouse duties assigned by the shift supervisor

Requirements / Skills

DHL is looking for a dependable, physically capable individual who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate is someone who takes safety seriously, can manage their time under pressure, and has a solid understanding of general warehouse operations.

• Physical capability to lift and carry parcels up to 70 lbs throughout an entire shift
• Time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work on-time within tight deadlines
• Teamwork with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a warehouse environment
• Security clearance — all candidates must meet security requirements including criminal background checks
• General warehouse knowledge with broad familiarity of warehouse functions
• High School Diploma required
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence is considered an asset
