Transportation Assets Analysis Student – Canadian Tire – Brampton, ON

Canadian Tire is looking for a curious, analytically minded student to join their Transportation Assets team in Brampton, Ontario for a 12 to 16 month co-op placement starting Fall 2026. This is a hands-on role that puts you at the centre of fleet operations data — working with real business challenges, real stakeholders, and real impact.

About the Role: Transportation Assets Analysis Student

Day-to-day, you’ll be conducting data analysis on fleet operations — looking at maintenance costs, asset utilization, and total cost of ownership. You’ll gather and validate data from internal systems and external sources, analyze owned and rented fleet performance, and develop reports and dashboards that support decision-making at the operational level. This isn’t a shadow-and-observe placement; you’ll be presenting your findings and recommendations directly to leadership and key stakeholders.

You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams including Fleet Maintenance, Operations, Finance, and IT — giving you broad exposure to how a large, complex organization operates. Documenting processes and identifying opportunities for improvement round out the scope of the role, making it a well-rounded experience for students building a career in data, logistics, or supply chain.

Benefits and Salary

The broadband salary range for this role is $23.00 to $37.00 CAD per hour, with a typical hiring range of $23.00 to $30.00 CAD per hour depending on experience, skills, and other factors. Responsibilities

This role puts you in the thick of fleet data and operational analysis at a national scale. You’ll be expected to take ownership of your work, communicate findings clearly, and contribute meaningfully to the team’s goals from day one. Here’s what the role involves:

• Conduct data analysis on fleet operations including maintenance costs, asset utilization, and total cost of ownership

• Analyze fleet performance across owned and rented assets, including vendor service levels and utilization trends
• Develop reports and dashboards to deliver insights that support operational decision-making
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Fleet Maintenance, Operations, Finance, and IT

Requirements / Skills

Canadian Tire is looking for a self-motivated student with strong analytical instincts and the communication skills to back them up. You should be comfortable juggling multiple priorities and working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The following qualifications and skills apply:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field — third year or higher preferred
• Microsoft Excel proficiency is required; experience with Access or other data tools is an asset
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to varied audiences
• Experience with Power BI, Python, or data visualization tools is a strong asset
• Previous co-op or internship experience in data analysis, reporting, or process improvement is considered an asset
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines with minimal supervision
