About the Role: Industrial Electrician

As an Industrial Electrician at the AJ Billes Distribution Centre, your primary mission is to maintain equipment reliability and uptime across the facility. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns with urgency, and use electrical schematics, panel layouts, and manufacturer specifications to troubleshoot and repair systems. Logging accurate work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is an essential part of the job, ensuring the team has the documentation it needs to improve over time.

You’ll be expected to work with minimal supervision, taking ownership of repairs from start to finish while keeping your shift coordinator informed with timely updates and proper shift change hand-off information. Canadian Tire offers a hiring range of $36 to $46.50 per hour, plus a $2 shift premium for night shifts. Starting wage decisions are based on your experience, certifications, and relevant competencies. Responsibilities

The Industrial Electrician at Canadian Tire’s distribution centre plays a vital role in keeping the facility’s equipment and systems running reliably around the clock. From hands-on repairs to proactive maintenance planning, this role touches every corner of the operation and directly impacts the centre’s productivity.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment within the distribution centre to minimize downtime and extend asset life
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, prioritizing repairs based on operational impact and urgency
• Troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, panel layouts, PLC programs, and manufacturer documentation
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts usage, and failure analysis in the CMMS (Maximo)
• Communicate effectively with shift coordinators, providing timely updates and thorough shift change hand-off information
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair DC controllers, AC drives, and photo electric systems
• Troubleshoot Rockwell PLC systems including Control Logic and SLC platforms
• Make recommendations for improving equipment efficiency, reducing maintenance costs, and enhancing service delivery
• Assist industrial mechanics or powered lift truck technicians when required
• Follow all safety policies, standard operating procedures, and maintenance quality standards at all times

• Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification — Industrial Electrician #442A or Construction Electrician #309A (copy must be attached to application)
• Rockwell PLC troubleshooting experience — Control Logic and SLC systems
• Experience with AC drives and DC controllers — installation, troubleshooting, and repair
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic equipment and testing procedures for diagnosis and setup
• Familiarity with CMMS software for logging work orders and parts records
• Ability to work at heights up to 100 feet and perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, stooping, and standing for extended periods
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of repairs through to completion
