This is a dual-mandate role — you’ll be overseeing both Technology Communications and Technology Organizational Change Management (OCM), acting as a trusted advisor to Technology leadership while driving clarity, alignment, and adoption at every level of the organization.

About the Role: Director, Technology Communications & Organizational Change Management

At its core, this role is about translating complexity into clarity. You’ll define the strategic direction for Technology communications and OCM, set governance standards, and ensure that priority initiatives are backed by robust stakeholder engagement, impact assessment, readiness planning, and adoption measurement. You’ll work closely with Corporate Communications, HR, Enterprise Change, and Learning teams to align messaging and reduce communication fatigue across the organization.

You’ll also play a critical leadership role in coaching sponsors and senior leaders through periods of significant change, identifying employee impacts, adoption risks, and change saturation, and recommending practical mitigation strategies. Oversight of the function’s budget and vendor relationships will also fall within your remit, requiring sound judgement and resource management experience.

Responsibilities

This role operates at the intersection of strategic communications, organizational change management, and technology leadership. You’ll be expected to lead at both the strategic and advisory level, guiding senior stakeholders while maintaining a clear view of portfolio-wide change activity and risk.   • Define and drive the strategic direction for Technology communications and organizational change management, aligned with Technology priorities and business objectives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Technology leadership on executive communications, employee engagement, organizational change, and stakeholder alignment
  • Shape and oversee Technology’s communications governance model, ensuring communication activities are coordinated, strategic, and aligned across the organization
  • Partner closely with Corporate Communications, HR, Enterprise Change, Learning, Technology leaders, and business stakeholders to align messaging, coordinate change activity, and reduce communication overlap and fatigue
  • Provide OCM leadership and advisory support for priority Technology initiatives, ensuring communications, stakeholder engagement, readiness, and adoption considerations are integrated into delivery plans
  • Guide leaders and sponsors through periods of change by identifying employee impacts, adoption risks, stakeholder concerns, and readiness requirements, and recommending practical mitigation strategies
  • Maintain Technology’s OCM framework, methodologies, tools, and standards, ensuring a consistent and scalable approach to change management across major initiatives
  • Monitor change readiness, adoption, and stakeholder feedback across key initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to leadership
  • Oversee the function’s budget and vendor investments, ensuring resources are effectively managed and aligned to organizational priorities

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings senior leadership experience in Technology, Communications, or Organizational Change Management, along with a proven ability to influence executives and navigate complex stakeholder environments.   • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business Administration, Information Technology, Organizational Development, Change Management, or a related discipline
  • Senior leadership experience within Technology, Communications, Organizational Change Management, Transformation, or a comparable strategic function in a complex organization
  • Strong understanding of technology organizations and the people, process, and adoption considerations required to successfully implement technology change
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior executives and translating complex technology strategies into clear, actionable communications and engagement strategies
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide communications, OCM, and employee engagement initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Proven ability to assess organizational impacts, competing priorities, and change implications, and provide practical recommendations to leadership
  • Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams, including communications professionals, change management practitioners, and external resources
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and external service providers
  • Change Management certification (e.g., Prosci) is considered an asset
