A significant part of the role involves coaching and mentoring team members, designated trainers, and coaches. Responsibilities
The Distribution Centre Supervisor role is broad and operationally demanding. Each day involves balancing workforce planning, safety oversight, team development, and production accountability — all within a high-volume outbound logistics environment. Here’s what you can expect to be doing:
- Manage production targets by driving daily and weekly outbound output to meet business unit objectives
- Allocate labour based on workload demands and assign tasks to maximize team efficiency
- Serve as key holder and support the security, loss prevention, and safety controls of the facility
- Enforce Health & Safety protocols by ensuring all team members adhere to proper safety procedures
- Coach and guide team members on work expectations, accountability, and performance deliverables
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and set individual objectives aligned with business goals
- Mentor coaches and designated trainers to build a consistent, high-performing team culture
- Meet internal and external customer expectations through teamwork, respect, and collaborative support
Requirements / Skills
Canadian Tire is looking for a candidate with proven leadership experience in a warehouse or logistics environment who can take ownership of results and inspire their team. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-moving operation.
- 4+ years of experience in a coaching or leadership role, preferably in a warehouse and/or logistics setting
- DCCS experience is an asset for this role
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to confront issues and drive results
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen and follow instructions accurately
- Self-directed time management with the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision
- Initiative to improve processes and performance through feedback and new ideas
- Availability to work the Monday–Friday afternoon shift (starting at 1:45 PM) plus every third Saturday
