Responsibilities
Working at the UPS Calgary Gateway, your responsibilities centre on the safe and accurate movement of packages through the facility. Every task you perform directly supports on-time delivery across UPS’s international network.
- Learn and apply UPS package handling methods correctly and consistently
- Load and unload UPS packages into trailers or package cars
- Scan, sort, and stock packages as part of the gateway workflow
- Operate heavy machinery as required to complete assigned tasks
- Complete additional tasks as assigned within the fast-paced gateway environment
Requirements / Skills
UPS is looking for a reliable, physically capable candidate who can meet the specific clearance and licensing requirements for working in an international gateway environment. Attention to detail and the ability to work a consistent weekday schedule are key to succeeding in this role.
- Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs. / 32 kgs.
- Ability to read and memorize postal codes accurately
- Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week, starting at 15:30 Monday to Friday (flexibility to start earlier is preferred)
- Valid Red RAIC — or demonstrated presence in Canada for at least 5 years
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is required
- DA or DAW is preferred without suspension
- Warehouse experience is preferred
