Amazon’s eCommerce Foundation Organization (eCF) is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Technical Program Manager to join the Amazon Financial Foundation Services (AFFS) team in Vancouver, BC. About the Role: Sr Technical Program Manager
This role puts you in the driver’s seat of complex, multi-team technical programs. You’ll define project scope, manage cross-functional dependencies, anticipate bottlenecks, and make strategic trade-offs between business needs and technical constraints. Whether you’re coordinating agile sprints or building integrated project schedules, you’ll apply best practices to keep everything moving forward with precision and purpose.
You’ll also serve as the primary communicator for the programs you oversee — tailoring your messaging for technical audiences and business stakeholders alike. You’ll take an active role in the TPM team’s commitment to continuous process improvement, constantly looking for smarter ways to improve efficiency, product quality, and overall SDLC health.
Benefits and Salary
Amazon offers a competitive base salary ranging from $128,100 to $214,000 CAD annually for this role in Vancouver. Total compensation may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional wellness resources. Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Amazon AFFS, your day-to-day work involves orchestrating complex technical programs across multiple teams and time zones. These responsibilities are central to ensuring that financial systems are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standard of quality.
- Partner with stakeholders including project sponsors, business teams, and engineering groups to define and deliver features
- Manage multiple parallel projects simultaneously, maximizing resources for the broader benefit of the organization
- Anticipate and resolve bottlenecks through escalation management, trade-off analysis, and balancing business needs against technical constraints
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues across multiple levels of project complexity
- Create and maintain integrated project schedules that account for internal and external dependencies, differing SDLC approaches, and contingency planning
- Drive effective collaboration and communication across disparate teams with competing priorities
- Communicate project status and issues in a concise, accurate, and professional manner tailored to both technical and business audiences
- Apply agile and blended methodologies across diverse team environments to continuously improve the software development lifecycle
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings deep experience working directly with engineering teams and has a proven track record managing large-scale technical programs in a fast-paced environment. Amazon values candidates who can balance technical fluency with strong program management discipline and stakeholder communication skills.
- 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
- 5+ years of technical program or product management experience working alongside software engineering teams
- 3+ years of software development experience to support technical credibility and cross-team collaboration
- Experience managing cross-functional programs, building processes, and coordinating release schedules
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management (preferred)
- Experience defining KPIs and SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership (preferred)
