Responsibilities

Day to day, a Produce Team Lead at Walmart Oakville wears many hats — from customer service to team coaching to department merchandising. These responsibilities are designed to keep the Fresh department running at a high standard while growing the capability of the team around you.

  • Deliver excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, assisting with product selection, locating merchandise, and resolving any concerns appropriately

  • Delegate and follow up on the daily Customer Availability process tasks to ensure shelves are consistently stocked and ready
  • Assess Fresh department presentation, identify deficiencies, and execute merchandising and display changes as required
  • Lead the daily Team Huddle at the start of each shift — sharing updates, setting goals, and tracking productivity
  • Assign associates to coverage and availability tasks across all store areas as needed
  • Identify training opportunities by touring assigned areas with the Coach and team, then developing associates through hands-on teaching and ongoing feedback
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment by adhering to company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure
  • Complete GTA/Workday tasks and provide administrative support to store management
  • Partner with the Coach and People Lead on performance management, growth conversations, and recruiting and onboarding new associates
