As the Sr. Operations Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of either Inbound or Outbound operations, working alongside Operations and Area Managers to deliver on safety, quality, performance, and customer experience goals. This position carries significant responsibility. You’ll own budgetary planning, people development, and operational objectives across the site. From setting performance expectations for your management team to building leadership bench strength within the Fulfilment Centre, you’ll be the driving force behind operational excellence. You’ll also take the lead on Lean initiatives, quality programs, and process change initiatives that push the FC beyond its business targets.

Collaboration is central to this role. You’ll work closely with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, and IT to secure resources and build support for key projects. You’ll also be expected to proactively share best practices across departments, shifts, and the broader Amazon network — ensuring that what works in one area lifts performance everywhere.

Amazon offers a competitive base salary ranging from $116,100 to $193,900 CAD annually for this position in BC. Total compensation may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Requirements / Skills

Amazon is looking for a proven leader with deep experience managing large, diverse teams in high-volume operational settings. The ideal candidate brings strong people management skills, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to stay composed and effective when priorities shift quickly.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required
  • 7+ years of direct management experience, including leading a salaried workforce in manufacturing, production, or distribution
  • Full staffing lifecycle experience, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations
  • Proven track record with performance metrics, process improvement methodologies, and Lean techniques
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as business demands
  • Physical capability to meet job demands: lifting totes up to 49 lbs, walking approximately 5 miles daily, and working in distribution/construction environments
  • Preferred: Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; MBA is an asset
  • Preferred: Experience managing a contingent workforce during peak seasons
