Benefits and Salary

The base salary range for this position in Vancouver, BC is $114,800 to $191,800 CAD annually. Total compensation at Amazon may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), with final figures determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being.

Responsibilities

Working on the CloudWatch Logs team means owning and contributing to systems that operate at a scale few engineering teams ever encounter. Your day-to-day work will span everything from leading technical projects to hands-on coding and architectural decisions — all with direct customer impact in mind.

  • Design and develop large-scale control and data plane software using Amazon proprietary technologies
  • Lead projects that improve the performance and reliability of distributed logging services
  • Deliver new features that help AWS customers get more value from CloudWatch Logs
  • Shape the technical direction of logging services and contribute to broader AWS cloud strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the AWS Utility Computing organization, working alongside teams across Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, and Platform
  • Champion performance improvements across distributed systems that serve both internal and external AWS customers

Requirements / Skills

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship) in a production environment
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience including design patterns, reliability, and scaling of new and existing systems

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (preferred)
