About the Role: Service Technician

As a Tesla Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for executing both basic and advanced diagnostic and repair work across Tesla’s full product line. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on vehicle work, high-voltage systems (following training), and partnering with fellow team members to deliver an exceptional finished product to customers.

Beyond the wrenches and diagnostics, this role requires strong documentation habits, a commitment to shop safety, and a collaborative mindset. Tesla offers competitive hourly compensation based on technician level: Service Technician I earns $23.10–$47.12/hour, Service Technician II earns $26.80–$40.19/hour, and Service Technician III earns $31.42–$47.12/hour — plus cash and stock awards for all levels. Responsibilities

Working at a Tesla Service Centre means no two days are exactly alike. Technicians are trusted to manage complex diagnostics, vehicle repairs, and customer-facing quality while also contributing to broader process improvements. Here’s what the role involves on a day-to-day basis:

  • Execute basic and advanced diagnostic and repair work on all aspects of the Tesla product line
  • Perform high-voltage related work following proper training, with or without supervision
  • Provide feedback directly to Tesla’s design and engineering teams to enable continuous improvement of repair procedures and products
  • Document repairs consistently and concisely to maintain accurate service records
  • Inspect and maintain shop equipment and request replacements as required
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure delivery of an exceptional finished product, including cleaning and detailing vehicles as needed
  • Develop and maintain an individual development plan to support your technical growth, with support from teammates and management
  • Participate with a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful attitude in a dynamic and ever-changing environment

Requirements / Skills

  • Education: High school diploma or associate degree/certificate, or equivalent professional experience in a related technical field (aeronautics, engines, electrical, marine, etc.)
  • Automotive Service Technician licence, or willingness to become a Technician Apprentice through provincial schooling
  • Valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver’s licence for Canada with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, organise workload effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Section 609 Refrigerant Handling Certification is preferred
  • Safety-first attitude demonstrated in all aspects of the work
  • Bilingual communication: The successful candidate will be required to support projects across all Canadian provinces and communicate daily primarily in English with staff and clients outside of Quebec
