Collision Technician (Afternoon Shift) – Tesla – Kirkland, QC

Tesla’s Collision Repair Program in Kirkland, Quebec is looking for a skilled Collision Technician to join their afternoon shift team. The schedule runs Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with the possibility of overtime and a shift premium included. You’ll be working hands-on with Tesla Model S, Model X, Model Y, and Model 3 vehicles, performing both structural and cosmetic repairs using Tesla-specific procedures and equipment.

About the Role: Collision Technician (Afternoon Shift)

This position goes well beyond standard body shop work. As a Collision Technician at Tesla, you’ll be using Celette Frame Jigs to set new structural components, applying advanced bonding, riveting, and MIG welding techniques, and working through Tesla’s detailed repair procedures to restore vehicles to factory standards. Each repair demands precision, technical knowledge, and a commitment to quality.

You’ll be expected to work as part of a collaborative, team-based environment, upholding Tesla’s standards on every job. The work touches on body panels, suspension components, radiators, airbags, trim, and vehicle structure — giving you broad exposure to the full scope of collision repair on electric vehicles.

Benefits and Salary

Tesla offers competitive compensation for this role, with pay varying based on experience level. Collision Technician I earns between $24.80 and $58.80/hour, Collision Technician II earns between $32.00 and $48.00/hour, and Collision Technician III earns between $39.20 and $58.80/hour. All levels are eligible for cash and stock awards in addition to their base pay. Responsibilities

Day to day, you’ll be restoring Tesla vehicles to their original specifications following a collision — using specialized equipment, precise techniques, and Tesla’s own repair procedures. Every task requires care and technical accuracy, whether you’re straightening a frame or replacing a body panel.

• Perform structural repairs on Tesla Model S, Model X, Model Y, and Model 3 in accordance with Tesla-specific procedures
• Use Celette Frame Jigs to accurately set new structural components during repair
• Glue, rivet, and weld structural components being replaced, including proficient MIG welding
• Repair exterior cosmetic panels using metal finishing techniques and body filler
• Replace collision-damaged parts including body panels, suspension parts, vehicle structure, radiators, airbags, and trim
• Adhere to Tesla Standards and contribute effectively within a team-based work environment

Requirements / Skills

• 5+ years of experience as an Automotive Collision Repair Technician
• CPA Card — required for this position
• MIG Welding proficiency — a Vocational Certificate in Collision Repair and MIG Welding certification are considered assets
• Ability to read and comprehend automotive repair procedures and technical documentation
• Comfort with new technology and the ability to learn new software platforms
• Valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver’s licence for Canada
• Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills, including daily communication in English with staff and clients outside of Quebec
