Job Summary & Tips for Applying
Quick Summary & What to Highlight: This Service Technician position at Tesla in Québec covers hands-on diagnostic and repair work across the full Tesla vehicle lineup, including high-voltage systems after training. The two requirements to put first on a resume are your Automotive Service Technician licence (or apprenticeship enrolment), which directly qualifies you for the repair duties, and your valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver’s licence, which is a firm condition of employment.
Resume & Application Tips: List your technician licence or apprenticeship status near the top of your resume, using the exact term Automotive Service Technician. If you hold a Section 609 Refrigerant Handling Certification, include it in a certifications section since the posting flags it as preferred. Describe any past work involving multiple concurrent repair orders to speak to the priority-management requirement. A concrete example works well here: for instance, noting that you managed six open work orders simultaneously while maintaining a same-day completion rate gives a reviewer something specific to consider.
Interview Preparation: Be ready to describe a situation where you balanced several repair jobs under time pressure, since the posting specifically calls out the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Prepare a real example from your shop experience that shows your approach to documenting a repair concisely. The posting notes that this role supports projects across all Canadian provinces with daily English communication; be prepared to speak to your comfort level with that. Worth asking: what the typical caseload looks like at this location, and how technicians are assigned to different levels of work during the apprenticeship period.
