About the Role: Service Technician
As a Tesla Service Technician, you’ll execute both basic and advanced diagnostic and repair work across the full Tesla product line. After completing the required training, you’ll also be cleared to perform high-voltage work, with or without supervision depending on your certification level. Your feedback on repair procedures goes directly to Tesla’s design and engineering teams, meaning your hands-on experience shapes how the company improves its products.
You’ll be expected to document repairs consistently and concisely, maintain and inspect shop equipment, and pitch in across teams to ensure every vehicle delivered meets Tesla’s quality standards. Responsibilities
Day to day, Tesla Service Technicians are responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles across the full product line, keeping meticulous records, and collaborating with multiple teams to deliver a polished final product. These responsibilities reflect the high standards Tesla holds for every vehicle leaving its service bays.
- Execute basic and advanced diagnostic and repair work on all aspects of the Tesla product line
- Perform high-voltage work following the required training, with or without supervision as applicable
- Provide feedback directly to Tesla’s design and engineering teams to enable continuous improvement of repair procedures and products
- Document repairs consistently and concisely for accurate service records
- Inspect and maintain shop equipment, requesting replacements as needed
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure delivery of an exceptional product, including cleaning and detailing vehicles as needed
- Participate with a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful attitude in an ever-changing, dynamic environment
- Develop and maintain an individual development plan to support your ongoing technical expertise and growth
Requirements / Skills
Tesla is looking for someone who brings both technical aptitude and a team-first attitude to the shop floor. Whether you’re an experienced automotive technician or an apprentice eager to learn, what matters most is your commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. The role also requires strong bilingual communication skills, as daily work involves English-language interactions with staff and clients across Canada.
- High school diploma or associate diploma/certificate, or equivalent professional experience in a related technical field (aviation, engines, electrical, marine, etc.)
- Automotive Service Technician licence, or a desire to become a Technician Apprentice through provincial schooling
- Valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record in Canada
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, organise workload effectively, and meet deadlines
- Section 609 Refrigerant Handling Certification is preferred
- Safety-first mindset demonstrated consistently in day-to-day work
- English communication proficiency required for daily interaction with staff and clients outside of Quebec
