Senior Assurance Solutions Architect – Amazon – Vancouver, BC

AWS Security Assurance Services is seeking a Senior Assurance Solutions Architect to join their team across multiple Canadian locations — Vancouver, BC, Toronto, ON, and Ottawa, ON. This is a senior, customer-facing role that sits at the intersection of cloud computing, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, offering a unique opportunity to help enterprise clients migrate sensitive workloads to the cloud with confidence.

In this role, you’ll work directly with some of AWS’s largest enterprise customers, helping them operationalize the shared responsibility model while navigating complex risk, regulatory, and compliance landscapes. You’ll lead cross-functional teams of Amazonians, partners, and customers to develop and deliver scalable security assurance solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

About the Role: Senior Assurance Solutions Architect

The AWS Security Assurance Services team — a PCI-QSAC and HITRUST External Assessor Firm — helps customers achieve, maintain, and automate compliance in the cloud by connecting applicable audit standards to AWS-specific features and functionality. As a Senior Assurance Solutions Architect, you’ll lead engagements that involve deep-dive security discussions, strategic presentations, and hands-on demonstrations of compliance automation within the AWS environment.

You’ll also serve as a vital feedback loop between customers and AWS engineering teams, ensuring that real-world compliance challenges inform the AWS technology roadmap. The role requires strong communication skills across all organizational levels — from technical teams to C-suite executives — as well as the ability to translate complex governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) requirements into practical, scalable cloud solutions. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Benefits and Salary

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package for this position. The base salary range is $146,000 to $211,600 CAD annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and location (Vancouver, Toronto, or Ottawa). In addition to base pay, the total compensation package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Responsibilities

On any given day, you could be guiding a customer through a compliance framework, presenting risk mitigation strategies to senior executives, or collaborating with AWS engineering teams to shape product direction. • Lead cross-functional teams of Amazonians, partners, and customers to enhance security assurance and compliance programs
• Define innovative compliance and risk management approaches that help customers migrate sensitive workloads to the cloud faster
• Resolve security assurance questions through deep-dive discussions, strategic presentations, and hands-on demonstrations of compliance automation in the AWS environment
• Convey customer and partner feedback to AWS engineering, support, and business teams to influence the AWS technology roadmap
• Educate enterprise customers on how product-led, people-powered services help them operate securely on AWS while meeting compliance objectives
• Travel to customer sites as required to support engagements and build relationships

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in cloud security, governance, risk, and compliance combined with a proven track record of leading technical engagements at the enterprise level. • 8+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or internet industries
• 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of SAP systems (e.g., SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects) and their architecture and infrastructure needs (preferred)
• Experience working with end-user or developer communities and managing relationships with SAP customers and partners (preferred)
• Experience in SAP clean core design concepts, including design and build using non-SAP technologies in domains such as Generative/Agentic AI and data & analytics (preferred)
