As a Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier, your primary responsibility is the safe and timely delivery of mail and parcels across assigned routes in and around Tracadie, NB. You’ll sort, collect, and deliver mail items, process Canada Post products and services, and maintain a solid working knowledge of local roads, customers, and delivery receptacles. Responsibilities

• Process Canada Post products and services including Change of Address Notifications, Damaged Mail reports, and Items Delivered Bills (IDB)
• Wear Canada Post identification visibly during delivery and collection activities
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lb (22.7 kg) as part of daily duties
• Operate a motor vehicle safely in various weather and traffic conditions throughout the route

Requirements / Skills

Canada Post is seeking candidates who are organized, independent, and reliable — someone who takes pride in their work and can handle the physical and logistical demands of a delivery route. You’ll need your own suitable vehicle that meets Canada Post’s specifications, along with a clean driving record.

• Valid provincial driver’s licence — Class 5 or G — required
• Satisfactory safe driving record required (current driver’s abstract dated within the last 30 days needed upon selection)
• Vehicle with minimum cargo capacity of 100 cu ft (2,832 litres), metal roof-top, accessory power outlet, and fifth door/hatchback (preferred)
• Automobile liability insurance for vehicle use while employed at Canada Post — must notify your insurer of this use
• Experience making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) on a regular basis
• Language requirement: English or French (either language is acceptable)
• Applicants residing within 75 km of the Tracadie Post Office are preferred
