Produce Stocker – Walmart – Sudbury, ON

About the Role: Produce Stocker

As a Produce Stocker at Walmart Canada, your primary focus is keeping the produce section clean, fully stocked, and ready for customers at all times. That means rotating merchandise, pulling expired items, and making sure everything is correctly priced and signed. You’ll also follow food safety and cold chain procedures — including temperature checks and proper food handling — to protect both product quality and customer trust.

This role also involves setting product displays and modulars, applying product protection as needed, and maintaining compliance with Health and Safety policies. You’ll be working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, so flexibility is important. The ability to manage a high-volume workload with focus and consistency is what separates a good stocker from a great one.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $18.05 per hour. Responsibilities

Day to day, a Produce Stocker at Walmart Canada keeps the department running smoothly by staying on top of stocking, zoning, and food safety compliance. These responsibilities are central to delivering a consistent, quality experience for every customer who walks through the door.

• Keep the department organized — maintain a clean, neatly zoned produce area that is always customer-ready
• Rotate and inspect products — regularly rotate stock and remove expired or low-quality items to ensure freshness
• Ensure accurate pricing and signage — verify all produce is correctly priced and signed, following procedures for markups, markdowns, clearance, and labelling
• Follow food safety and cold chain standards — conduct temperature checks, use thermometers properly, handle food safely, and comply with sell-by and expiration date requirements
• Stock and set displays — stock and downstock merchandise as needed, apply product protection, and set modulars including flex modulars and shelf caps
• Maintain Health and Safety compliance — follow all workplace Health and Safety policies to support a safe, clean working environment
• Work flexible shifts — be available for evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs

Requirements / Skills

Walmart Canada is looking for candidates who are reliable, flexible, and physically capable of keeping up with a busy produce department. The ideal applicant is someone who communicates well, works effectively on a team, and takes pride in maintaining high standards even during high-volume shifts.

• Physical capability — able to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift inventory or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs. regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility with scheduling — comfortable working mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Attention to detail — able to perform repetitive stocking and zoning tasks consistently and accurately
